Our Teams Experience

Following presentation and interview Horizon 38 in Bristol was chosen as the location for the new £32m Global Technology Centre by GKN Aerospace.

• The centre, was opened in 2020, and is leased to GKN Aerospace.

• It extends to 117,000 sq ft (10,872 sq m) on a site of 7.3 acres fronting onto the A38 in North Bristol.

• It consists of 46,252 sq ft of Grade A office space over four floors and a research and development area of another 67,188 sq ft in two distinct areas, with an emphasis on the provision of an inspiring high-quality working environment.

• The building is a one of a kind and a first for the GKN delivery team.

• The bespoke nature of the project required a significant fast track collaborative effort from instruction in June 2018 to iterate, define the brief and to design, specify and agree commercials in time for the preparation of the Planning Application, AFL and Funding terms in October 2018.

• We subsequently secured Planning in February 2019 and commenced on site on a pre-let, funded basis in May 2019.

• The Works were procured via competitive and negotiated Tender using JCT Design and Build as a basis.

• Project Management, Cost Management and Employers Agents services were provided.

• The project was Practically completed within 1 Year
